The car maker, which prides itself on its rally and racy heritage, Lancia, was created in nineteen zero six, by Vincenzo Lancia and a close friend. The Italian based automobile manufacture has been known as a car producer which is innovative and creates distinctive models for sale. Lancia is currently in the ownership of the Fiat car group, and has been since it was acquired in the late nineteen sixties. Lancia creates luxury and high end car models, based heavily upon the Fait car models.

The two founders of Lancia, Vincenzo Lancia and Claudio Fogolin, were both motoring enthusiasts and racing drivers for the motoring group Fiat. In nineteen zero six the pair founded the Italian car producer, named Lancia & Co. Based in Turin, the newly formed company began their production range with the tipo 51, a four cylinder motor mobile which began production in nineteen zero eight. Between nineteen thirteen and nineteen eighteen Lancia produced the Theta 35 HP, the larger variation of the Epsilon, which came with the innovative electrical lights and start motor. Between nineteen twenty two and nineteen thirty one Lancia produced the Lambda, the first ever load bearing monocoque body type. Over eleven thousand of these innovative models were produced, which also came equipped with the first independent suspension.

The Lancia Aurelia, penned by the designer Vittorio Jano, is considered a farther of the long distance, high performance grand tourers. In production for a total of eight years, the Aurelia was the first car fitted with a V6 engine, with over thirteen thousand of the series produced.

Exporting to the USA proved unprofitable, with a small scale export system in place within the nineteen fixities and nineteen sixties, but full export began in the mid nineteen seventies. The American market showed poor demand for the European brand, and the manufacture withdrew from the American market, along with Fait, in the early nineteen eighties.

The Mercedes-Benz G 65 AMG is one of the big boys in the SUV game. It's more than capable of handling any type of off-road, rugged terrain thanks to its history with the German automaker. While it may have been mainly used to conquer rough terrains in the past, the G-Class models have transformed into more of a road-going SUV thanks to the wealthy consumers that purchase them. Mercedes-Benz has shown no plans to change the way it is built for off-road duty to create a more comfortable ride on the streets, so the aftermarket car tuning team at Hamann in Germany has developed a new upgrade program that turns the SUV into a boulevard cruiser with a large amount of power and exclusive styling upgrades. The new G 65 AMG upgrade program includes a range of new engine modifications, a wide body exterior kit, new COR Wheels and other chassis upgrades to create a one-of-a-kind G-Class.

The engineering team at Hamann in Germany first decided to focus on the massive 6.0-liter V-12 engine hiding beneath the hood. The twin-turbocharged engine packed quite a bit of potential that was able to be tapped into through the use of a new software tune. The tune alters a variety of engine parameters from fuel delivery to ignition, spark, and timing variables to create even more power than before. A new stainless steel exhaust system with side-exit design and three tailpipes finished in anodized gold-colored aluminum helps to reduce backpressure so that the SUV's turbochargers can spool more efficiently. The result is a total of 702 horsepower and 811 lb-ft. of torque being sent to all four of the COR Wheels at the front and rear axles for greater acceleration and top speed performance.

After the engine was upgraded, the team shifted their focus on the exterior of the G 65 AMG. The entire SUV was repainted and given new multi-layered paint with a special illumination feature that, when exposed to electric current, glows in the dark. The paint runs the length of the SUV and is also worn by the front and rear logos, and can be lit up with the push of a button. The front fascia was equipped with new LED lighting and a lip spoiler to generate greater amounts of downforce while creating a more aggressive look. Both the front and rear fenders were extended a total of 76 mm to give the high-performance SUV a more muscular stance when combined with the COR Wheels. A new rear bumper with diffuser insert and roof spoiler helps to build upon the more aggressive look and generate more downforce for better stability.

Want the oddballs in the automotive world? Well, brace yourself for the most eccentric cars off the roads. They are exotic. They are intriguing. But they are not for everybody to have and hold.

In today’s auto shows, manufacturers are shelling out a fortune to be part of the specialty market players that introduce the most eccentric cars. The recognition, regardless of the fact that the cars will not be allowed on the roads, is enough to make the automakers elated.

One of the exotic cars ever launched is the Artega, which was penned by Henrik Fisker, famed for being an extraordinary designer. The car is a fresh contribution from a new German automaker that plans to enter in the manufacture of high-performance sports cars for daily use. The 2008 Artega features a 3.6-liter Volkswagen-sourced V6 mated to the DSG twin-clutch gearbox of the company to produce maximum output of 300 horsepower via the rear wheels.

Another odd car is dubbed Carver One, which is said to be the “the world’s first commercially available self-balancing, tilting, three-wheeled vehicle.” Carver One is part motorcycle, part car; it is all about thrills over practicality. The contraption features a removable roof panel, 660-cubic-centimeter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 68 horsepower and 74 pound-feet of torque.

Gumpert Apollo Sport is another eccentric car to behold. Apollo Sport is given the high-performing mid-engine supercar powered by a 4.2-liter Audi V8 engine. It also features a fixed rear wing, rugged body, and gullwing doors that flip up on their roof-mounted hinges. It resembles the looks of a race car straight out of the FIA GT European supercar series.
